Our Story

Hi! We are so glad that you have found us! Welcome to our world. Our home base is currently out of Skagway, Alaska. Its mountainous beauty never ceases to inspire our vision. We started this journey on the rocky Mendocino coast, and have expanded to Alaska, but that is just the beginning, as we will be based out of our bus and nomadically taking our landscape visions to your home, wherever you may reside. We find inspiration in every corner of the world.

I am Jessie, the owner of Lady and the Land. I grew up with my roots in the soil, gardening side by side with my Dad. During my college years I began apprenticing as a landscaper, and since Ive had the opportunity to work in garden nurseries, farms cross the country, botanical gardens and farm-to-table restaurants. I continued to return to landscaping, as an artist, I am drawn to the endless possibilities of “painting with plants”. My goal is to create a space alongside you that brings a sense of peace and belonging in your own home.

My wonderful partner and co-collaborative dreamer, Felipe (Man and the Mountain) brings years of experience from his time as a dedicated employee of the National Park Service, where he installed trails across the United States and mastered the art of dry stone masonry. His incredible creativity and love for nature and the great outdoors shines through in every project he tackles from his incredible wildlife and landscape photography to his stone work.
